[Members] 2 bits of news from Carron Valley

Hi folks,

Got 2 bits of news that will hopefully interest you!

First one is tomorrow night we are having another scouting session,
meeting early (17:45) and going to scout round a few sections for the next
bit of project planning. If you fancy coming along to lend a hand
(basically walking the area and checking for suitability i.e. scenery,
ground conditions, drainage, side slopes, etc) then be at the Forestry
building for 17:45 - old clothes and suitable footwear (wellies or sturdy,
waterproof boots) are essential.

Second news - Wednesday night will see the first 'official' group ride at
Carron Valley. A few people were posting up on the discussion board about
an organised ride so we thought we'd give it a bash...so far we think
about a dozen people will be turning up but more are welcome...if you
fancy it, be at the car park between 18:30 and 19:00 - leaving at 19:00.
Lights may be required but the idea is sociable pace and chat, then see
what comes of it.

Third bit of news, we will be getting some further trail work started by
the contractors in the next 3-4 weeks, scheduled for 5 weeks we will
extend Pipedream, put a loopback from the end of Cannonball Run back to
Pipedream and also create a trail from the damhead gate to the start of
Pipedream (so people don't miss Pipedream out and get more singletrack for
the loop). We are all on for next year and these next few weeks will see
us working on the project plan to submit for approval for work over the
next 2 years - some rather large extensions are planned and providing
permission is given we will be increasing the number of trails and trail
length at Carron Valley.
