In answer to Steve : The official opening of these sorts of facilities are usually on a weekday, so that the funders/MPs and associated bigwigs can have a day's jolly on expenses.

The 27th is a Monday. Seems like an odd day for an opening ceremony? I'd 
love to help, and turn up on my bike and sneak into some of the press photos
