Hi folks,

The new trails are being worked on by the contractor just now and the
Harvesting is going at a reasonable pace as well and as such there hasn't
been much trailbuilding to be done for the group. Now that the trails are
nearing completion we need to get in and start doing some blocking on the
trails to make sure they don't get ridden until they have bedded in but also
look at addressing some of the previous blocking to improve upon it.

We have a loose plan of action for Saturday so if you are free and fancy
getting involved, then we'd appreciate the help - 10am at the Forestry
building. Bring old clothes, sturdy footwear and work gloves. Food and drink
are also recommended...it's been a touch cold up there lately but after 10
minutes or so of work you will soon warm up!

So work plan as such is as follows -

Trail blocking on the new sections of trail - this is to prevent people
riding what has just been built so it hardens and forms properly
Remedial blocking of trail edges on existing trails - people are now
completely missing corners on some sections and it is damaging the sides of
the trail...not a huge hassle but it starts to collect and form puddles
which simply start to erode the trail...this needs to be prevented.
Moving of some bridge structures, telegraph poles, steps and stobs - they
are in the way of part of the extension so we need to move them away
Collecting counter data - will already be done before 10am
Dam works - a small sideline project but the waterfall at Cannonball has
formed a small pool...we reckon if this was dammed slightly, it would create
a small feature that would be rather interesting - wellies and waterproofs
are a definite for this - if we have time to do anything with it.

Hopefully see you there,

Richard.
